At first glance choosing the right DXRacer chair can seem like a daunting task.  However, once you understand a few basic principles it becomes a lot simpler.

Here’s what you need to know:

The first thing to understand is that the chairs are bolstered on the sides, like a race car seat.  Therefore, it is very important to get a chair that can accommodate your body type.  If the chair is too narrow you may feel impingement from the bolsters.

Let’s break it down by Series…

Formula Series: 5’3″ to 5’8″, 110 to 180 lbs

The F Series is ideal for persons that range in height from approximately 5’3″ to 5’8″ and weigh from 110 to 180 lbs.  Please note that the chair has a weight capacity of 265 lbs.  However, weight capacity is simply a measure of what weight the chair can safely support. It has nothing to do with comfort and fit.

Ideal body type is a narrow to medium build, i.e. – narrow to medium shoulders and narrow to medium waist, hips and legs.  The seat pan has bolstered sides created by the internal steel frame.  If you have large thighs the seat may feel too narrow.

Features include: 170 Degree reclining back rest, Swivel-tilt Mechanism with tilt lock, height adjustable armrests, seat height adjustment, lumbar support cushion, headrest cushion and integrated footrests on the base.

Drift Series: 5′ 7″ – 6′ 2″, 160 to 210 lbs

The D Series is ideal for persons that range in height from approximately 5′ 7″ – 6′ 2″ and weigh from 160 to 210 lbs.  Please note that the chair has a weight capacity of 265 lbs.  However, weight capacity is simply a measure of what weight the chair can safely support. It has nothing to do with comfort and fit.

Ideal body type is an Athletic build, i.e. – medium to wide shoulders and a narrow waist.  The main factor to consider is the prominent bolsters in the waist area. If you are wide in this region, this chair is not for you.

Features include: 170 Degree reclining back rest, Swivel-tilt Mechanism with tilt lock, height adjustable armrests, seat height adjustment, lumbar support cushion, headrest cushion and integrated footrests on the base.

Race Series: 5’5″ to 6’3″, 115 to 180 lbs

The R Series is ideal for persons that range in height from approximately 5’5″ to 6’3″ and weigh from 115 to 180 lbs.

Main limiting factor are the waist and shoulder bolsters. If you are have wide shoulders and/or a wide waist this chair is not for you.

Features include: 170 Degree reclining back rest, Swivel-tilt Mechanism with tilt lock, height adjustable armrests, 360 degree rotatable armrests, seat height adjustment, lumbar support cushion, headrest cushion and integrated footrests on the base.

Max Series: 5′ 8″ – 6′ 3″, 170 to 240 lbs

The M Series is ideal for persons that range in height from approximately 5′ 8″ – 6′ 3″ and weigh from 170 to 240 lbs.  Please note that the chair has a weight capacity of 265 lbs.  However, weight capacity is simply a measure of what weight the chair can safely support. It has nothing to do with comfort and fit.

Ideal body type is a medium to wide build, i.e. – medium to wide shoulders and medium to wide waist.  The main factor to consider is that the seat pan is quite long.  If you are too short for this chair the seat pan may impinge on the back of your knee.

Features include: 170 Degree reclining back rest, Swivel-tilt Mechanism with tilt lock or a Knee-Tilt mechanism with lockable recline, 4D adjustable armrests, seat height adjustment, lumbar support cushion, Premium headrest cushion and integrated footrests on the base.

Universe Series: 5’7″ to 6’3″, 190 to 300 lbs

The U Series is ideal for persons that range in height from approximately 5’7″ to 6’3″ and weigh from 190 to 300 lbs.  Please note that the chair has a weight capacity of 330 lbs.  However, weight capacity is simply a measure of what weight the chair can safely support. It has nothing to do with comfort and fit.

Ideal body type is a medium to wide build.  This chair can accommodate a wide range of body types as the bolsters are more open. Also, the bolsters on the seat pan are foam as opposed to metal and are therefore more forgiving.

Features include: 170 Degree reclining back rest, Knee-Tilt mechanism with lockable recline, 4D adjustable armrests, seat height adjustment, lumbar support cushion, Premium headrest cushion and integrated footrests on the base.

King Series: 5′ 6″ – 6′ 3″, 170 to 350 lbs

The K Series is ideal for persons that range in height from approximately 5′ 6″ – 6′ 3″ and weigh from 170 to 350 lbs.  Please note that the chair has a weight capacity of 400 lbs.  However, weight capacity is simply a measure of what weight the chair can safely support. It has nothing to do with comfort and fit.

Ideal body type is a medium to wide build, i.e. – medium to wide shoulders and medium to wide waist.  The main factor to consider is that the seat quite wide.  If you have a narrow build you won’t feel the lateral support provided by the bolsters.

Features include: 170 Degree reclining back rest,  a Knee-Tilt mechanism with lockable recline, 4D adjustable armrests, seat height adjustment, lumbar support cushion,  headrest cushion and integrated footrests on the base or new heavy duty base.

What about the Iron series..how is it different than the King series?

    Thanks!

The Iron Series is not as wide in the backrest and has more prominent bolsters on the sides. Other than how it fits the features and functions are the same.
